From a member of the Walton County Heritage Association: The site of the old McDaniel Fish Camp has recently been converted into an upscale RV camp. The new management is interested in displaying a historical exhibit of the site as it was in the "old days." The camp was located on Black Creek, northeast of the Hwy 331 Bay Bridge. Specifically, the party is interested in any photos of the camp, family stories, and any news articles that might have been written about the camp. Any information would be appreciated. I found online that the McDaniel clan started having reunions in 1942, but the last one was in 1962 due to the death of the owner of the Fish Camp, Charles Milton McDaniel, in 1963. The family revived the reunion in 2000 and 2001, but I was not able to find any information after that. Diane HD#45

If you watch the "Frogs" movie, McDaniel's is in there! I found it at Walmart.

That's great to know! I found it online at www.hulu.com/watch/30658/frogs, but I'd rather have a DVD than download it onto my computer. For those who aren't familiar with it, "Frogs" was filmed at Point Washington in what is now Eden Gardens State Park in 1972. Diane
