From a website visitor: My grandfather was born in Ponce de Leon but moved to DeFuniak Springs as a young boy & I think his parents lived there for over 30 years (early 1900s to the early 30s). I have a picture of the house that they lived in & wondered if anyone can tell me if it is still standing? . . . My mother (who is now almost 80) remembers visiting it as a young girl & she said it was about one block from the lake. My grandfather was Glen Ballard Simmons. His parents were Jesse Asbury Simmons and Lillian (or Lillie) Simmons. The back of the photo says "twins on steps" (this would be my great aunts, Wilma & Wilfred Simmons). Lula on left and daughter on right. Lillie on inside of fence behind J.A. Simmons (these are my great-grandparents). Lula was Lillie's sister. My grandfather was not in picture. She noted that the back of a similar photo says "Ponce de Leon" but her mother is certain the house was in DeFuniak Springs. Does anyone recognize it? Diane HD#20
