I am trying to find out where Roberts, Florida is/was located in 1910. I have a relative, Isaac Welch, who had lived in Walton County for many years. He died in Pensacola, FL and his obituary states that he was buried in Roberts, Florida. I am trying to find his grave and more.

Here is some additional information "bwelch" sent me: Isaac Welch got a land grant for 318 acres in 1859. The 1860 Census records him living in Almarant. The following is an excerpt from a letter written by a James M. Tate who lived in Roberts, Florida, to a Mr. A. M. Millan in Pensacola where Isaac lived and was applying for a pension. From the Pension Application: Roberts, Fla, July 11th 1903 Mr. A. M. Millan Pensacola Fla Mr. Welch in 1861 was the Senator from Walton county, and as such he advocated the Ordinance of Secession; and by referring to that document - if it is still in existence - you will find his signature appended. His course was condemned by a portion of his constituency, and he was taunted with a challenge to demonstrate his sentiments by enlisting as a Confederate soldier. This he did by enlisting in one of the West Florida companies.............' After the surrender, the numerous deserters and bushwhackers, who had rendezvoused in Walton and the adjacent counties of Ala & Florida commenced a systematic persecution of him by seizing his cattle, destroying his property and threatening his life and that of his family until finally he was compeled to sacrifice his property and flee to Baldwin County Alabama for a season in order to save his life. Yours Repectfully James M. Tate " From the Obituary: "Followed by a number of aged comrades, the remains of the aged Isaac Welsh were yesterday borne to the depot and shipped on the 11:30 a.m. train to Roberts, Fla, his old home where they were laid to rest in the pretty cemetery there. Members of Camp Ward were in attendance and they felt deeply the death fo the olf gentleman who was within a few years of reaching his centry mile post."
