From a website visitor: I'm trying to find out what happened to my great grandmother's sister, Laura L. (Brown) Parish, originally from Walton Co, who married Tolbert T. Parish, who I understand was a schooner ship captain in or around Walton or Okaloosa FL. All I have is a quote from the Niceville Florida Online History Center website where "Tolbert Parish is documented as a Schooner Captain at Boggy in the 1910 Federal Census". While rumors have flowed for several years back that they perished while on a Schooner sail in or around 1914 or 1915 when the ship sank. I have nothing to prove that and have been looking for any ships that may have sunk around FL during that time period but again nothing. There was hearsay that the Parish family owned a shipyard or shipbuilding business in that area but again I have no evidence of that.
Any help would be appreciated. If you have information about Laura or Tolbert Parish, please post it here. Diane HD#67
