The following was submitted to the Walton County History Detectives: What is the name origin of Children's Home Cemetery (or the Children's Home Community)? Hoping the answer will help lead me to discover Wesley D. Carter's ancestors. One transcription done about ten years ago listed a "Westly" [sic] and "Pachel" [sic]. These are Wesley D. Carter and his first spouse, Rachel O'Neal Carter. Their daughter Emily Carter Steele is also buried there. Rachel's sister Elizabeth O'Neal married Wm. Thomas Cawthon, and their grandson Allen H. Cawthon is buried there as well. Thank you for your kind help!

The Walton County Genealogy Society's newsletter, Walton Relations, has run a couple of articles about that cemetery. You can run a search for that topic (or any other) from the Newsletters page of our website, www.waltoncountyheritage.org/GenSoc/newsletters.htm. Diane
