I received an email from an archaeology firm, requesting the following:
. . . any articles or books concerning the impact of interstate 10 in Walton County. From what I understand, the interstate moved from west to east towards Tallahassee, but I would love to find any firsthand accounts, or anything covering the impact on communities in Walton. I appreciate any and all help.
According to Wikipedia, construction of the interstate between SR87 in Santa Rosa County and Mossy Head began in 1968. In 1970, construction began between Mossy Head and DeFuniak Springs. In 1973, it was taken from DeFuniak Springs to Caryville.
Thanks for any help you can give.
Diane
