This question was asked at the Walton County Heritage Museum: There used to be a short car rail line from the tracks near Baldwin Avenue to the P.W. Miles Lumber Company. Where was the cut-off to the lumberyard? The following answer was provided by a Museum volunteer: This short spur line was at 11th Street. The lumber company was on the land between Baldwin Avenue and Nelson Street (Hwy. 90). The bank and Council on Aging buildings are now on this land. See the 1997 calendar produced by the Walton County Heritage Association for photographs of the P.W. Miles Lumber Company. ISO #11

What was the timeframe the P.W. Miles Lumber company was in operation? An insurance survey map done in 1922 list that lumber company as Beach - Rogers & Co.

P. W. Miles Lumber Company bought Beach-Rogers & Company in 1930. I don't have a closing date for the Miles Lumber Company.
